A learning trajectory can be used to specify curriculum plans in terms of a coherent set of learning goals . Learning trajectories can have various functions and defined on different aggregation levels. The structure of learning goals is related content, context, function and domain were the learning trajectories are used.

A learning trajectory is a reasoned structure set of learning goals and content.
Depending on the exact function, use context and audience curricula vary in the extent to which different implications for curriculum elements are developed.
